The chickens of Jacquotte and Lucien, authenticity rediscovered.
In Lessac, Cécile has chosen to revive a tradition dear to our memories: the Sunday farm chicken, shared with family around a lively table. With Les poulets de Jacquotte et Lucien, she stands for local, genuine, and human-scale production.
With a background in agricultural studies, first as a technician and then as a cattle breeder, Cécile knows the realities of the profession. She continues to run her cattle farm alongside this activity. Her farm is therefore rooted in a strong agricultural foundation, built on experience and hands-on work.
Her move into poultry farming was no coincidence. It stems from a deep desire: to offer farm-raised chicken as it used to be, raised with patience and respect, and to bring back that simple flavor that once brought families together.
The farm takes its name from a shared family joke that became a heartfelt signature, now deeply embedded in the story of the project.
Around 300 chicks are welcomed at just one day old and raised over a period of four months. This deliberately limited volume allows for careful monitoring and ensures animal welfare. Slaughtering, organized every two weeks, is done by order only to avoid waste and produce just the right amount.
Sales are made directly: whole chickens, without cutting, available at the farm or for delivery. They can also be found in selected local butcher shops and restaurants.
In spring, you can also find started chickens at the farm to raise your own free-range chickens.
At Christmas, capons are added to the production, while chicken and capon rillettes are available all year round. These gourmet preparations extend the farm’s expertise and offer another way to enjoy this quality.
Without displaying any specific label, Cécile prioritizes GMO-free feed whenever possible, sourced from local farmers through short supply chains. A consistency between practices and values, true to her vision of responsible agriculture.
Les poulets de Jacquotte et Lucien represent a human-scale farm where animal contact remains essential and every decision is guided by common sense.
Here, it’s not about producing more, but producing better. Taking the necessary time to offer carefully raised chicken and bringing back that taste of authenticity to our Sundays—something we sometimes thought was lost.
